We issue an online fortnightly Monday morning news review to those who work in the care sector. Our focus is to review a number of current care industry news stories, and share them with you through a positive lens. We celebrate successes and good news of the care sector, and rather than simply moan, we take the time to learn from its mistakes.

In the current economic and political climate the care sector is under intense scrutiny to improve standards of service provision and to achieve efficiency savings.

Earlier this year, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published more reports from a targeted programme of 150 unannounced inspections of hospitals and care homes that care for people with learning disabilities. An area of concern to emerge from an initial analysis of the first 40 reports is that many services are failing to provide patient-centred care.
